Mission almost accomplished as Brentford eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over struggling Accrington Stanley - but results elsewhere mean that the Bees need two more points to absolutely guarantee promotion.

The game was never a real contest as Brentford were really up for this game - Adam Newton even (accidentally) tacked the young Accrington mascot before the game!

And the result was never in doubt after the impressive Sam Williams looped a header over the poorly positioned Arthur from Karleigh Osborne's excellent 8th minute cross.

Hunt and Bean won the midfield battle and Dickson looked dangerous with his overlaps and the marauding fullback was rewarded with his first ever Brentford goal when he received from Wood, shimmied past a defender and finished calmly with his right foot - a really well worked goal which ended the game as a contest.

Billy Clarke was rewarded for his non-stop running with a calmly taken penalty after Williams was barged over in the area after 50 minutes. That's 4 in 4 games for the impressive loanee!

The game meandered to a close with Poole having a run out for the last half hour to spare Sam Wood for Tuesday at Dagenham. Clarke almost made it four and Newton hit the outside of the post.

Accrington played their part with Ryan going close and Hamer finally having to make a couple of comfortable saves.

Bennet and Phillips were imperious in defence but everyone played well and the promotion bandwagon is revving up.

Roll on Dagenham on Tuesday!

Brentford: Hamer; Osborne, Phillips, Bennett, Dickson; Newton, Hunt, Bean, Wood (sub Poole 68 mins); S. Williams, Clarke (sub M. Williams 87 mins)- unused subs: Simon Brown, Halls, Spencer
