Bees consolidate second position
Brentford dominated the first half and had it not been for superb saves by the Exeter keeper Paul Jones Brentford would have been two up by half time. During the second half Exeter put Brentford under pressure; they had some better openings but failed to test Hamer. With 15 minutes remaining MacDonald went down in the box and a penalty was awarded which MacDonald duly converted to a goal. Four minutes later Sam Wood scores a beautiful goal set up by Marcus Bean and MacDonald. Brentford's home match on Saturday 3rd January has been postponed as Chesterfield have been reinstated into the FA Cup due to Droylesden playing a suspended player in the last round.
