Thieves launched an early morning smash and grab on the Tesco Express store on London Road in Isleworth early this Tuesday morning (15 October).

They gained access by smashing one of the windows at the front of the store. The police have confirmed that it wasn’t a ram raid.

The store was empty at the time and a member of staff said afterwards that attempts to open the tills were unsuccessful and the police confirmed that the thieves had made off with a number of unspecified items.

The window was boarded up later in the morning allowing the store to reopen the same day.

Inspector Gavin O’Connor said, “Police were called at 4:48am on Tuesday, 15 October to reports of an alarm activation at Tesco, London Road, Isleworth, TW7.

“Officers attended and it was confirmed that a break in at the location had occurred. A front window to the store had been smashed and a number of items had been stolen from inside. There was nobody present at the time of officers attending. There was not believed to be any vehicle involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing. “

If you have any information regarding the incident, call 101 with the reference 788/15OCT24.
