Hopes for a reopening of Cod and Rock appear to be diminishing after it has remained closed for several weeks.

The fish and chip shop on London Road had gained a loyal local following after it opened in June 2021 but it was subject to occasional lengthy closures including one last year.

Some regular customers of the takeaway opposite the junction with Commerce Road have said that they had been told the owner had been suffering with ill-health.

We have tried to contact the shop’s management to confirm the closure is permanent but have been unable to reach them.

A company, which is believed to have owned the business, called Brentford Fish Ltd, was dissolved via a voluntary strike-off in September last year.

The parade of shops in which Cod and Rock was based has seen a number of business closures since it was developed in 2013. Previously the 5,976 square foot unit was home to an artisan chocolate maker.
