Police are appealing for information concerning a case of burglary in which a woman tricked her way into an elderly lady's flat by claiming to be doing a security check. The crime occurred on Wednesday 5th April 2006 at about 12.45pm at a flat in Boston Manor Road, Brentford. The victim was 87 years old.

She answered a caller at the door and it was a woman who stated she was from 'security' for the flats and she needed to make sure everything was working. The woman, described as ‘pushy’. entered the flat and kept the victim in the kitchen for about 15 minutes. Clearly there was an accomplice because, after the woman left, the victim went into her bedroom and found property strewn all over the place. A quantity of cash was stolen.

The suspect was described as a white female, about 35 years, 5’07”, straight black hair in a ponytail, pure white teeth, wearing a brown tweedy checked top and dark trousers.
