Councillors and Election Results

The TW8 area contains two Hounslow Council wards, Brentford and Syon. Generally speaking, Brentford ward covers roads east of Boston Manor Road, although there are exceptions. Further details are available at the election maps website.

In the local wards during the last election in May 2010 there Labour won all six seats following their losses the previous May 2006 when Labour was wiped out in Syon ward and just managing to hang on to two seats in Brentford with all three Syon seats going to the Independent (nee Isleworth) Community Group and Andrew Dakers gaining the third Brentford seat for Labour.

Isleworth and Brentford Area Committee

To deal with issues specifically related to the Brentford area there is a local committee made up principally of councillors that meets on a regular basis.

The Brentford and Isleworth Area Committee has devolved powers from the Hounslow Council to make policy specific to the area. These powers include the ability to decide on smaller residential and commercial planning matters. The committee also has a budget for environmental and transport improvements. There is an open forum at these meetings in which you can raise a matter of local concern by filling out a form prior to the meeting.

The Area Committee meets to discuss planning issues at the Brentford and Isleworth Area Planning Committee meetings. Details of forthcoming meetings and minutes of previous meetings can be found here.

Other relevant matters, including policing, education etc, are discussed at the Brentford and Isleworth Monitoring Committee. Details of meetings and minutes can be found here. Further information can be found at Hounslow Council's website.
