Support teams from across the Council joins collective plan
Hounslow Council has mobilised a team to provide support to those working on recovery efforts following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower. The council has linked up with others to offer support as part of a collective plan for local authorities to help each other out in a crisis. This includes support in managing and staffing the Community Assistance Centre, running a helpline, providing mental health and wellbeing advice, help and guidance on housing and temporary accommodation and coordinating donations.
They are also working closely with the voluntary sector and remain part of the ongoing liaison with the emergency services. Chief executives and senior officers from Hounslow, the City of London
Corporation, Bromley, Ealing, Harrow, Southwark and Westminster have stepped
into leadership roles in the immediate aftermath of this response being
triggered.
