Kew Bridge Road flats bring local average price to record high

Average property prices in Brentford reached an all-time high in Brentford in the second quarter of 2012 according to figures from the Land Registry.
The average price of the 89 properties sold in the TW8 post code area during the second quarter of this year was £374,192. This is the highest level since records began.
The main reason for the rise in the average was the high price being paid for units in the Kew Bridge development. 26 were sold during the period with flats changing hands for up to £950,000. At the same time sales were less brisk in other cheaper developments further west there was some level of demand for units in Trico House and Lincoln House on Ealing Road.
The June data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price rise of 0.9% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,777.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 6.3% to £359,476 over the same period.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during April 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 19 per cent to 41,244 compared with 50,721 in April 2011.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in April 2012 decreased by 43 per cent to 468 from 825 in April 2011.
The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
