Volumes recover in December
December saw a recovery in the amount of property sales in the local area with 17 homes changing hands. This is still well below historic norms and 10 of the properties sold were in the Wallis House Development in the Great West Quarter. The average sale price over the month was £252,559 The average property in Brentford in the fourth quarter of 2008 cost £245,850 which is 22.7% down on the same period last year. However with volumes so low it is difficult to conclude this is an accurate picture of the market. Only 32 properties changed hands during the last quarter of 2008 breaking the record for the lowest ever set the quarter before. The numbers quoted are based on Land Registry data. The numbers are subject to revision as there are usually some properties that are added late to the Land Registry's database. Where do I live?
