March sees a busy programme of events with some fundraising activities to support the future of the venue.

On Saturday 9 March at 2.00pm there will be guided tours of the museum designed especially for children.  Tickets £15.00 / £25.00.

The on Sunday 10 March at 4.00pm there will be a Hybridae Concert with Naomi McLean and Joyce Tang present a program on remembering Fauré & cello salon music. Hybridae concerts involve live musicians playing alongside piano rolls.  Tickets £12.00/£20.00

The Tea Dance returns on Saturday 23 March at 2.00pm. Dance the afternoon away with a free dance lesson and a tea/coffee or Prosecco included with your ticket which costs £10.00.

Then on Saturday 30 March at 2.30pm Robert Wolfe is at the Wurlitzer. Norfolk's 'King of Keys" and resident organist at Thursford collection makes a welcome return to the Musical Museum. Advance tickets cost £15.00.

As part of the effort to continue to make the Museum financially sustainable, admission prices have been increased.

The museum says it has kept prices in line with attractions in the local area and as visits to include a guided tour, it believes they still represent good value.

Should visitors opt to add a 10% donation on top, then the museum can claim Gift Aid on their admission tickets too.

Gift Aid Admissions lets it reclaim tax on the whole amount paid—an extra 25 per cen, potentially a very significant boost to the Museum’s funds.

The museum continues to offer a 50% discount for residents of the London Borough of Hounslow with proof of address.

The museum’s 60th anniversary Gofundme campaign has reached over 70% of its £60,000 target. It received a further boost this week with coverage on the radio and in the Daily Telegraph.

The  Magpie and Crown is putting on an 'Easter Extravaganza' as a fundraiser for the Museum over the Easter weekend (29 March to 1 April) with karaoke, live music and pub quizzes.

The museum says, “We have been overwhelmed with the response so far - thank you so much for your support. Please continue to share our campaign to help us reach our target. Every donation, no matter the size, adds up and makes a difference. “

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

We are therefore asking our readers to consider offering financial support to these efforts. Any money given will help support community and public interest news and the expansion of our coverage in this area.

A suggested monthly payment is £8 but we would be grateful for any amount for instance if you think this site offers the equivalent value of a subscription to a daily printed newspaper you may wish to consider £20 per month. If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact info@neighbournet.com and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.

If you do support us in this way we’d be interested to hear what kind of articles you would like to see more of on the site – send your suggestions to the editor.

For businesses we offer the chance to be a corporate sponsor of community content on the site. For £30 plus VAT per month you will be the designated sponsor of at least one article a month with your logo appearing if supplied. If there is a specific community group or initiative you’d like to support we can make sure your sponsorship is featured on related content for a one off payment of £50 plus VAT.
