More Farmers Market Dates Announced

First Saturday of the month for popular market

More Farmers Markets are to be held in Brentford. Organisers have announced that markets will be held on the first Saturdays of November and December, Sat 6th Nov and Sat 4th December. The venue will be the same as before, the Brentford Health Centre on Boston Manor Road, opposite the station.

The markets will feature a wider range of stalls than at the previous market. "We were let down at short notice by a couple of stallholders, including our bread supplier" organiser Seema Malhotra told us. "I'm sure that won't be the case this time. We'll also have some new people coming along, including a Fresh Sushi stall."

The first market, held on 9 Oct, was hailed as a great success, with nearly 1000 people visiting. Ms Malhotra was keen to point out the help offered by local councillors and the Primary Care Trust, who have given permission for the site to be used. She is also calling on people in the Brentford Community to volunteer to help the market continue. "If anyone can help - perhaps by delivering leaflets, helping to get sponsorship, looking after the site on the day - then I'd urge them to get in touch. It won't take up too much of your time and it'll be putting something very important back into our local community".

It is hoped to continue the markets on a monthly basis into the new year . If there is sufficient demand then they may become a weekly fixture in Brentford life.
