Weed maintenance and TfL report also on the agenda
March 27, 2025 For the second time in a row, an update on the latest situation with regard to the local leisure centre is to feature at the Brentford and Syon Area Forum. As before Forum Chair, Cllr Dan Bowring, is to tell people at the meeting on Monday 31 March the latest on the Fountain Leisure Centre. There has been no more information released since earlier this year when the council published the results of a survey into the matter. It said at the time that this was just the first in a series of public engagement exercises on the future of the centre. Whilst the Leisure Centre remains open, no date has been set for its closure and it is expected to remain open for some time. The council has indicated that a new leisure centre will be built in its place funded through the building of housing. Also on the agenda at the meeting ,which begins at 7.30pm at the St Pauls Centre, St. Pauls Road, Brentford (TW8 0PN), is a local transport update from Transport for London and Tim Hurley’s report on weed management in the borough. Ward councillors will be giving updates on their area with the meeting welcoming Theo Dennison for the first time since is election for Syon and Brentford Lock. The meeting concludes with an open forum from 9:10 to 9:30pm which is an opportunity for members of the public to address the meeting on general issues relating to the agenda and other issues not on the agenda. The Councillors for this Area Forum welcome questions from residents in advance of the meeting. The date of next scheduled Brentford and Syon Area Forum meeting is Monday 7 July at a venue to be confirmed. Area Forums have become an important part of the way that Hounslow Council tries to engage with residents. The forums are held across the borough, split up by electoral ward.
