Brentford man admits 77 burglaries
A one-man crime wave was sentanced to two years and nine months in prison following a crime spree which netted him over £30,000 worth of goods in the past year. Damian Sumner, 20, of Lionel Road, Brentford admitted three burglariesand asked for a furthur 74 cases to be taken into consideration. Sumner, 20, was caught after a brief chase in March. His home was searched, which revealed a watch taken from a home in Netherby Road, Ealing. On his person he had £725 cash and eight wraps of cocaine. His defense counsel blamed Sumner's drug addiction for the crime wave and told Isleworth Crown Court that his client had now become clean of drugs. However Judge Richard McGregor Johnson told Sumner that he took the crimes very seriously, especially as some victims had actually found Sumner in their homes. 30 June 2005 |
