Man stabbed to death was a father of two May 5, 2023 Police investigating the stabbing to death of a man in Brentford have now confirmed the victim’s name is Darren Augustine. He was a 44-year-old father of two from the Ealing area. He died on the street at Brentwick Gardens shortly after 5.15am on Wednesday 26 April. Police had earlier been called to the scene after a report of a break in and Darren was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics to save him. A post-mortem examination found cause of death to be stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. In a statement his family said, "Darren was a family man, he leaves behind his family including two children, he did not have a bad bone in his body." In 2016 he was the subject of an injunction order which prevented him from being in the vicinity of Oxford Road, Richmond Road and Walpole Close in West Ealing or approaching two named women who lived in the area. The investigation into his death is being led by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. The ten people who were arrested in connection, seven men and two women of ages ranging from mid-teens to early sixties, have all being granted ball until mid-May. An eleventh person, a man, was arrested on suspicion of murder on 1 May and he has been granted bail until July. We will do everything we can to support them. "A dedicated team of detectives are working to establish exactly what happened and identify who is responsible. Officers are at the scene which remains open, and I would ask anyone with information about the incident to contact us immediately, no matter how minor the detail. "Tackling violent crime remains a top priority for the Met. This incident serves as a reminder that we still have more to do in this area. We continue to work alongside the communities we serve to stop violence. "I urge anyone with information concerning this incident to call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 873/26APR.
