A 39-year-old man from Isleworth has received a suspended jail sentence after admitting a charge of harassment against his ex-wife and her solicitor.

Tajinderpal Singh Bains was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay compensation of £4,500.

He has also been ordered to go on a course about relationships.

A family court had earlier decided that he should pay his ex-wife Harpreet Bains £80,000, he became enraged and sent solicitor Zara Akthar sex toys and escort profiles through the post as well as sending malicious and abusive emails to her and Mrs Bains.

Bains has previously been convicted of assaulting and falsely imprisoning his ex-wife.

In her victim impact statement, Ms Bains said, “Since the letters and parcels were sent I don't feel safe. I constantly look over my shoulder for the defendant and worry about what he might do to me. This was designed to cause me to be disgraced and humiliated.

“I am constantly anxious now and I live in fear. I’m scared what he will make up about me next in order to humiliate me - I can't use social media for fear of my photos being taken and used to humiliate me.”
