Managing Director Will Butler-Adams awarded OBE
The award comes as the firm posts a 28 per cent surge in sales last year when it sold 44,755 Brompton bikes. Brompton Bicycle still makes bicycles in Brentford and now exports them to 43 countries worldwide - including more than 20 in Europe The Prime Minister, Rt Hon. David Cameron MP, has recorded his New Year’s Message to the country in front of workers at Brompton Bicycles’ factory in Brentford. Local MP Mary Macleod described the Prime Minister’s choice as ‘fitting’, for a message about growing our economy and the Government’s long term economic plan for the future. She said: “Brompton Bikes in Brentford is the perfect choice to talk about our country’s return to prosperity – a British success story producing over 20,000 folding bikes every year, exporting to over 40 countries. Brompton’s achievement is just one of thousands of businesses benefitting from the Government’s reforms and tax cuts, designed to push growth to the limit”. The Prime Minister also visited Brentford in January last year, when he met John Watson from John’s Boat Works and attended a roundtable discussion with female entrepreneurs at the Time Café in Brentford Dock.
