Marked vehicle was responding to an emergency call
A male pedestrian has been killed in Brentford after being hit by a police car this Saturday (13 June). The collision occurred shortly after 4.15pm near the junction of the A4 and Boston Manor Road. The police say that the marked police car was responding to an emergency call. The London Ambulance Service attended and treated the victim. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene. The road was closed in both directions but has since reopened. Forensics officers cordoned off the scene and a tent was set up to enable their work. The Met's Department of Professional Standards (DPS) has been informed and the incident has been referred to the IOPC who have launched an independent investigation. It is the second road fatality in the vicinity within a month. A motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Osterley on 23 May.
