Average price in TW8 unchanged for three years
The average home in the Brentford area has not risen in price for three years according to the latest data from the Land Registry. Whilst other parts of London and the UK are experiencing a renewed property boom it appears that this is by-passing the TW8 area. As in previous quarters there has been a dichotomy between the price trend for houses, which have risen steadily, and flats, which have seen prices steadily decline. The average flat price for the latest quarter is down by 8.8% on the same period last year. Flat sales have plunged alarmingly with volume down by 30% on the previous year. It is possible that with many attractive waterside properties already sold developers are having problems shifting less well sited units. Prices overall in Brentford are down by 2.2% over the year and over the last three years they have fallen by 1.8% The average price of a Chiswick home has risen by 35% in the same period. The average home in TW8 now costs £274,852.The average price of a home in England and Wales is now £173,717 up by 7.8% over the year. London prices have been increasing more rapidly rising by 10.4% over the same period. The numbers quoted are based on Land Registry data from October to December 2006. The numbers are subject to revision as there are usually some properties that are added late to the Land Registry's database. Brentford Property Prices, October to December 2006
