Another attempt to add an additional three storeys to a planned tower block near Kew Bridge has been submitted.
An almost identical scheme for the Kew Bridge Station Quarter development at the rear of the Express Tavern pub was rejected earlier this year.
A six storey tower on the site was approved in 2018 but Mackenzie Homes wish to add three storeys of residential accommodation. This would increase the number of flats at the site from 30 to 15.
The same proposal was made earlier in the year but Hounslow Council planners said that the additional height would be harmful to the character and appearance of the site and neighbouring conservation areas and listed buildings. They also deem that there is insufficient communal amenity space for residents and too little affordable housing.

The applicant acknowledges that the density of the development is in excess of the recommendations set by the Public Transport Accessibility Level but claim that the benefits of increased accommodation on a site capable of absorbing this proposal is worth pursuing.
The application site comprises an area of undeveloped land to the rear of 57-59 Kew Bridge Station and the national overground line to the North. The brownfield site was formerly used as a storage depot in connection with the overground rail line but is currently a derelict site surplus to requirements.
