L&Q invite locals to Brentford Family Fun Day

Developer to submit planning application for the Citroën Garage site in the autumn

Leading residential developer L&Q is hosting a family fun day for local residents in Brentford.

Held at the Watermans Art Centre, on Saturday 8th July, from 10.30am-4pm, the event will offer locals the opportunity to find out more about the affordable homes and open space L&Q is hoping to create on the Citroën Garage site.

The proposed development would provide over 400 new homes including much needed family housing and up to 40% affordable homes. It will also create a new public square that is being designed with community use in mind.

L&Q is inviting residents to get involved in the design of this new public square. The event will include a design workshop with the landscape architects which will help inform the final design of this space.

There will also be fun activities for all the family to enjoy, including a house building competition, face painting and free refreshments.

L&Q’s PricedIn experts will be on hand to offer advice to first time buyers, explaining available options, such as shared ownership and Help to Buy.

Ed Tibbetts, Senior Design and Planning Manager from L&Q, said: “We’re really excited to meet and get to know the local community in Brentford at our fun day. The proposed development will create over 400 new homes for the area, up to 40% of which will be affordable.

“There will be a mix of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bed homes available, a nursery, retail space and even a restaurant available on site.”

David Webster, Landscape Architect, said: “The proposed development will create new open spaces that both the existing community and new residents can enjoy, including a vibrant urban plaza. We are really keen to involve local people in the design of these spaces so I would encourage people to come along to the event and visit our website to provide their views”.

L&Q are already committed to delivering and investing in much needed new homes in the borough having commenced construction on The Gateway development which is on the Wheatstone House site in Brentford. This development will provide 95 new homes, including a mixture of private, one and two bed apartments and shared ownership and affordable rent one, two and three bedroom apartments. Homes at The Gateway are due to go on sale in 2018.
