Application Doomed With Its Current Plan
Ruth Cadbury, Deputy Leader and Brentford Ward Councillor met Hounslow's senior planning officer on Thursday. Residents of North Brentford and the wider area will be pleased to know that the applicants will be asked to withdraw their application, on the basis that it represents significant overdevelopment on the site. If they insist on pursuing it they would be refused planning permission by officers under their delegated powers. This means that it won't be coming to the planning committee. We would expect that if they want to redevelop the site they would return with a much reduced scheme, with much less impact on the local area. Councillor Cadbury commented "This issue has as it has given us one of the biggest "post-bags" we have had on a local issue for a very long time, so I hope people can rest assured that whatever happens on that site, we will ensure that it is in scale and keeping with the local area". Well done to all those who contributed to the correspondence. Please continue your interest by coming to the Brentford Community Council's next meeting on 28th July at 7.15pm at Methodist Hall, Clifden Road. Ballymore will make a presentation on their initial work on the South Side of Brentford High Street so if you would like to know what's happening come along and find out. July 24, 2011 |
