The Mulberry Centre

The Mulberry Centre is a local charity that provides practical and emotional support for anyone affected by cancer- whether they have just received a diagnosis, are supporting a colleague or family member or have just lost someone they love to cancer. All the services are offered free of charge and there are no age or postcode boundaries. Support lasts for as long as it’s needed.

They have recently introduced a new initiative of Education and Training Programmes which has the dual purpose of providing training in topics related to our work at the same time as raising funds from the registration fees in order to support The Mulberry Centre's core work.

Both the introduction and the full course are delivered by Judi Stewart who is currently undertaking a master’s degree in mindfulness and has an MA in Psychological Coaching

Introduction to Mindfulness
Wednesday 5 October (6.30-8:30pm)
£12 per person, at The Mulberry Centre, West Middlesex University Hospital

Discover what mindfulness is by trying some practices and short guided meditations. Participants will gain an overview of mindfulness and will have an opportunity for questions and discussion. This is a useful introduction if you are thinking of joining an eight week course.

8 Week Mindfulness Course
Wednesday evenings: 12, 19, 26 Oct & 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 Nov (6.30-8:30pm) plus an all-day retreat on Saturday 19 Nov (10am-4pm)
£250 per person, at The Mulberry Centre, West Middlesex University Hospital

Mindfulness is a mind-body approach that can help you change the way you think, feel and act. It has been proven to help reduce stress and anxiety. People taking the course may find they are more relaxed, feel calmer, are better able to handle stress and have more enthusiasm for life. Courses include telephone pre-course orientation session, and a set of CDs/MP3s to continue your practice at home. See Oxford Mindfulness to learn more about it.
