Local drama group is performing The Wizard of Oz
Follow the Yellow Brick Road with St Faith’s Players
Early bird tickets are currently available to join with the award-winning St Faiths Players as they travel down the yellow brick road to meet the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The local drama group will be performing a panto version of this much-loved classic this December at the Watermans and, as performances often sell-out, it is advisable to book your tickets early.
The performances which run for two and a half hours will be taking place from Thursday 1 December to Saturday 3 December at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 230pm.
Tickets bought before 15 October cost £12 after which the price increases to £16 for the Friday and Saturday performances. There is a group discount price of £12 for bookings of six tickets or more.
St Faith’s Players started performing in St Faith’s Church Hall in 1977 with a concert to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. Since then hundreds of people have taken to the boards, built sets, painted scenery and sewn costumes to keep the shows coming.
The group continues to go from strength to strength and we are proud to drawing from talent and enthusiasm from a real cross section of the local community.
It aims to put on at least two productions each year, ranging from drama to comedy, thriller to Music Hall – all interspersed with a variety of social activities and fund raising events.
The group welcomes new members (from the age of 5 upwards) and offers many different opportunities to get involved. There are numerous opportunities to join in with make-up, costumes, scenery, lighting, sound, stage managing and props. No experience is necessary.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.
Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
