Brentford and Isleworth Quakers invite you to an evening of improvised performance with inspiration from the audience on Saturday 26th October.

Come as you are! Say what you care
about! Bring your ideas! How would it be if peace, simplicity, equality and truth applied in public and personal life?

Three Worlds are Dramatic Improvisers who make stories, sketches, scenes and monologues from anything you care about. The stories grow and change. The show is a unique creation from all of us, audience and performers.

Tickets free. Suggested donation towards expenses £8 or what you can. Booking is essential.

Running time approximately 90 minutes. Saturday 26th October, 7.30pm.

Tea and coffee available after the show

Three Worlds is a diverse company of actors skilled in dramatic improvisation.

Six actors are cast in each show. Each show is unique and entirely improvised from audience suggestions. The performers create characters and truthful narratives in the heat of the moment.

Improvised drama, the ‘art of making spontaneous theatrical performance’, has only been legal in this country since 1968. To curb sedition and dissent, the Theatre Licensing Act of 1727 required that the script for every new play be sent to the Lord Chamberlain and, once agreed by the Monarch’s representative, nothing could be changed. Actors could only speak the words that had been written for them. Theatres were shut down for ad-libbing!

Improvisation lived on, of course, in the Music Halls, but drama was banned.
