Brentford Local and Family History Day takes place on Saturday 6th June at Boston Manor House, in a change from its usual venue.

 

Windmill of Brentford

Open between 11-4pm, it includes:

11.30am Talk: Waterways in Brentford -Janet McNamara, Heritage Guide

12.15pm Talk: Making a living from the river - James Wisdom, Chair of Brentford and Chiswick History Society

1.30-2.30pm Heritage Walk: The Great West Road and the Canal - led by David Bright, Heritage Guide

3pm Talk: The Opening of the Great West Road - James Marshall, Local Studies Librarian and author of the History of the Great West Road.

Celia Cotton will be there with her history website of Brentford families together with people from the West Middlesex Family History Society.
 
There will be the story of Brook Road South on display and pictures with George V and Queen Mary opening the Great West Road and local history books will also be on sale with tea and coffee also available.
