Review of the year and guest speakers

BRAG Annual General Meeting

Tuesday 21st November 2017 7:00 pm

Brickfield Community Centre, Brickfield Close,  Brentford, TW8 8JN (which is the base for Hounslow Community FoodBox, just behind Majestic Wine, 2-10 London Road).

Please join in the eighteenth Brentford Recycling Action Group (BRAG) Annual General Meeting. Light refreshments will be available.

BRAG is a voluntary, non-political community waste action group made up of Brentford residents. It works to raise awareness of waste issues and to promote activities and facilities to improve the local environment. 

Guests speakers include

• Nicola from Air Quality Brentford, who will give us an update on air quality issues and attempts to effect positive change;
• Sheila Churchill, a local environmental campaigner, who will talk about plastic pollution;
• Arturo Lewis, a recent graduate in civil engineering, who will discuss Stepping up to a Circular Economy on an Industrial Scale (a programme in which waste material from one industry is identified as a suitable input for another).

The AGM will consist of a review of BRAG’s activities in the past year, including work at community events, followed by a number of presentations and a question-and-answer session. We will round off the evening with refreshments, where you’ll have a chance to chat with members and guests in an informal setting.

Representatives of Hounslow Council’s Recycling Team have been invited, as always, and will tell us the current situation and future of recycling in the Borough.
