You have until April 18th if you have not already registered
The Notice of Election for the Mayor of London and London Assembly Elections has now been published, meaning that Brentford residents now only have a matter of weeks to ensure they can cast their vote on Thursday May 5th. All applications must be made by midnight on April 18th. Any eligible residents on the electoral register will receive a poll card this wekend confirming information about the election of the Mayor of London and members of the London Assembly, including a member for the South West Constituency. Households with no registered electors will also receive a voter information card, with instructions on how to register if the residents are eligible. With these elections fast approaching, and the Referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU confirmed to take place on June 23rd, now is the time for all eligible voters to guarantee they can take part by making sure their name is on the electoral register. British and Irish citizens, along with citizens of Commonwealth countries and the European Union can vote the elections on May 5th. If you haven’t received your poll card by Tues 29 April, you should contact the council’s Election Team on elections@hounslow.gov.uk or 020 8583 2828 to check if you’re registered to vote. Anyone who is not registered should visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote as soon as possible. Once your application has been received, Electoral Services may need to contact you to provide further information, so make sure you apply early. If you know you will be unable to visit a polling station you can apply for a postal vote until 5pm on April 19th, or a proxy vote 5pm by April 26th.
