Family and friends gathering to share stories in Blondin Park
The family of Virginia Fassnidge, are inviting those who knew Virginia to a gathering at 12 noon Saturday 7 August in Blondin Park, W5 4UR to share stories over drinks and nibbles. The tireless campaigner for the Brentford community passed away this April aged 81. She was an unassuming stalwart who helped out many local people and charities. She worked with Linda Massey organising the stalls for the Brentford Festival for 13 years. She was a trustee of Hounslow Disability Network and a member of Friends of the Earth and was on the committee of a local allotment site where she also tended a plot. It will be possible to purchase Tango Whisky 8, a book of stories and poems all about Brentford that Virginia collaborated on. The event may also be a chance to have a sneak preview of the soon to be completed new Community Pavilion which is in the sports area where the Brentford Festival (postponed again this year) usually has its music stage.
