Right turns into Clayponds Avenue to be banned
Hounslow Council has made the decision to implement an experimental traffic order to restrict motor vehicles from turning right from Chestnut Avenue into Clayponds Avenue. There is a one week notification period for the order which is due to come into operation on 6 August 2020 It is meant to work in conjunction with nearby restrictions on Occupation Lane and Green Dragon Lane, Burford Road and Netley Road. The council says it has decided to do this to reduce the amount of through traffic using this and neighbouring roads and to prioritise the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. The restriction will be in place for a minimum of 6 months, after which the it will be reviewed to determine if it should be made permanent. Anybody wanting to make a comment on the order should write to the Assistant Director for Transport, Parking and Environmental Strategy, Hounslow House, 7 Bath Road, Hounslow TW3 3EB or email to trafficorders@hounslow.gov.uk quoting the reference TMO/E012/20. End of the trial period is 29 January 2021.
