Gas and water companies digging up High Street
Traffic conditions in Brentford look set to get even worse later this month with major roadworks planned for the High Street. Significant jams have already been taken place due to the closure of Hammersmith Bridge and the enabling works around Kew Bridge associated with the planned cycle highway. Now it has been announced that two utility companies will be digging up the High Street opposite the Ballymore development to make changes to underground pipes serving the project. Both gas and water supply will be worked on with Cadent digging up the gas pipes and Thames Water connection up a new water supply for a public house which would otherwise have been cut off due to changes being made for the new development. Both works are planned to commence next Tuesday (14 January) and are scheduled to be completed by 23 January. The road will remain open but traffic will be controlled with multi-way signals. Traffic delays beyond even that currently being experienced in the area is anticipated and motorists are advised to avoid Brentford High Street if they can.
