McDonalds Appeals Against Refusal of Late Opening Application |

High Street takeaway will have case reviewed by Minister
McDonald’s has made a appeal against Hounslow Council’s decision not to allow an extension of its application to extend its opening hours at its Brentford High Street branch. The drive-thru restaurant at 322 High Street opposite The Watermans currently opens from 5am to midnight but was seeking a variation of existing planning permission which would have allowed it to open until 2am seven days a week. The opening hours have already been extended once in 2012 and McDonald’s argued that a late opening would not cause noise disturbance to those living nearby as they were already affected by road noise. They added that most of the customers late at night tended to be shift workers, taxi drivers or delivery drivers rather than people returning from pubs and clubs. The appeal means the decision will be review by a planning inspector who will make a report to the Secretary of State. The original application for the new hours can be viewed on the Hounslow Council planning portal by searching for reference P/2022/0756.
