Majestic Wine Warehouse Closing Brentford Store | ||||
Unit on London Road to be taken over by neighbour Pets at Home
Majestic Wine Warehouse is closing it outlet in Brentford this weekend. The unit in the retail development on London Road is reportedly being taken over by its next-door neighbour Pets at Home. The store is promising its ‘biggest ever clearance offer’ until it finally shuts its doors for the last time this Sunday (14 August). A notice at the store thanks its customers in Brentford and refers them to other nearby branches in Chiswick, Ealing and Richmond. It is understood that the closure was brought about due to a lease renewal. The business was bought for £95 million by American private equity group, Fortress in 2019. It is generally understood to be performing well having been boosted by people buying more wine during lockdown. Majestic remains the UK’s largest wine high street wine retailer with over 200 stores. Fortress made a £6.3 billion bid for Morrisons last year.
