Halloween stop and search yields fake gun and cannabis

Officers from the local neighbourhood teams on patrol on Halloween night have confiscated what is suspected to be a replica pistol from a teenager.

Members of the local ward teams from Brentford, Syon, Chiswick Riverside and Homefields were working together in a joint operation when a suspicious male was spotted on Green Dragon Lane.

The 18-year-old was stopped and searched and a suspected imitation firearm, and a small quantity of cannabis. He was subsequently arrested and taken to a west London police station.

He has since been released under investigation.
