Brentford mother jailed for nine months
Karen Wiltshire, a 41 year old mother of two from Cherry Crescent in Brentford, has been jailed for nine months after she was found guilty of having sex with a 14 year old boy. The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was registered blind after losing the sight of one eye in a car accident. The court heard how the boy's family were friends with the Wiltshires and he started visiting on a regular basis. It is alleged that some of the offences took place when her husband and children were in the home His mother had become concerned about the situation when the number of texts and phone calls between her son and Wiltshire became unusually high. He was spending an increasing amount of time at her home. When confronted Wiltshire denied anything was amiss but the boy's mother remained concerned and secretly taped conversation between the pair. In April 2002 she played Wiltshire the tapes who admitted to what was happening and promised that it was finished. No action was taken but four years later the boy's mother learnt that Wiltshire had taken a job working with disabled children. She was then arrested and claimed that the boy had initiated the relationship. On finding her guilty the judge banned her from working with children for life as well as jailing her.April 23, 2007 |
