Brentford Voice Plans Local Conversations on Area Master Plan |
|
Says studies being done by the council will have significant impact Brentford Voice are planning one or more ‘local conversations’ on the master plan for the town centre which the council is in the process of drawing up. It believes that the studies currently being undertaken by London Borough of Hounslow, with the assistance of Allies and Morrison, will have a very significant impact on the future of the area and wants to get as many local people involved as possible. A Draft Vision for Brentford Town Centre has already been subject to public consultation, which closed on 15 March. The consultation document can be viewed here. The timetable for this part of the study was very compressed in the view of Brentford Voice and it unsuccessfully asked the council to extend the time available for this consultation. The comments submitted by Brentford Voice on this draft vision can be viewed here. The next stage is for the Vision to be developed through a "master planning" study for which there will again be a public consultation. This will include a detailed examination of a wide range of issues including housing, employment, transport, heritage, arts and culture, and sustainability (including climate change and energy matters). The timetable for this part of the study should be announced within two weeks. Once the timetable has been announced, Brentford Voice will host one or more virtual "local conversations" on the main issues with the dates to be announced in due course. These conversations will be solely for members of the wider community in Brentford. Local councillors and officers will not be invited to take part. If you think that, in principle, you would wish to attend one or more of the local conversations then let Brentford Voice know by sending an email to info@brentfordvoice.co.uk An indication of numbers would be of great assistance in planning for the event(s).
