With Ealing's Santa Maria Pizzeria providing pizzas
Merlin McCormack, founder of "Duke of London", alongside his mother, Annie McCormack, will be taking over as the new publicans of Brentford’s Brewery Tap pub, on Catherine Wheel Road. Currently under refurbishment, The Brewery Tap will become an extension of Duke of London’s current home at The Factory next door. The pub's regular live music nights will continue to run, with plans to reintroduce many previous regular acts. Adding to the existing offering, Duke of London will also be serving customers Santa Maria pizzas - voted London's best pizza by Time Out - and in true Duke of London style, there are plans for a series of new events, including ‘bring your own vinyl’ evenings. Merlin McCormack, Duke of London, comments: “The Brewery Tap has been close to my heart for many years - both of my parents used to drink here when they were my age! When we moved Duke of London to this end of Brentford 3 years ago into one of Ballymore's buildings, I fell in love with its charm and totally unique-for-West-London atmosphere. I always admired the way it supported local musicians and artists and we will be continuing this tradition. We are sympathetically refurbishing the pub as I am very keen to maintain its cosy and welcoming vibe.” This new chapter for The Brewery Tap comes about following conversations between landlord Fuller’s and Duke of London, supported by Ballymore. A spokesperson for Fuller’s said: “We promised the local community that we were working to keep it open and we are excited by the plans from the Duke of London team. The Brewery Tap is a well-loved Brentford institution so we are delighted the pub is going to be reopening in December.” Refurbishment works to the pub are now underway and it is due to reopen in December.
