Plant a tree, or help plant fifty as part of Trees of London
Air Quality Brentford has 100 tree saplings arriving as part of the Mayor of London's initiative to plant 75,000 trees across the city on the weekend of 1-2 December. The tree planting project will be on Saturday 1 December and starts at 9.30am at the small park/playground opposite Brentford Towers on Green Dragon Lane. There are 60 trees for this area, and the Mayor of Hounslow will be visiting at 10.30am. This will be followed at 1pm by planting 34 trees in to a 'nursery area' at Mercury House on Glenhurst Road. Once the Mercury House trees have grown to a bigger size they’ll be transplanted by Hounslow Housing to estates where space has been allocated. To round the day off Orchard Road's tiny Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 4.30pm. Everyone is welcome. Wrap up warm, bring a garden spade, gloves and watering can if you have one.
