Plant a tree, or help plant fifty as part of Trees of London
The Mayor is giving away 49,000 free tree saplings as part of a scheme with the Woodland Trust and The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy. The Mayor has partnered with the Woodland Trust, which will provide 24,000 trees free of charge for Londoners to plant in their gardens, with a further 25,000 trees being offered to community groups and schools across the capital, in partnership with community charity The Conservation Volunteers. If you'd like to take part in the ballot to plant two of these saplings in your own garden then please apply here (by 5 November). The scheme is also giving away packs of 50 trees for community planting, Air Quality Brentford have ordered two of these so will be planting the 100 saplings in Brentford (locations TBC) on the weekend of 1-2 December. Help will be needed! You can apply as a community groups, housing associations, tenants or residents associations, schools, friends of parks groups and other charities with a selection of different packs available.
